Squeeze Page Dynamics

November 19th, 2008

A squeeze page is a most unique type of web site. A squeeze page is a wonderful and profitable thing to have.

What is a squeeze page? A squeeze page is a web page that has as its only purpose the opting in of visitors. There should be no outgoing links on your squeeze page. The only thing a visitor should be able to do when they get to my squeeze page is to opt in. There should be no pay per click, no links to my sales pages, no links to other articles – nothing. The only thing should be my opt in form.

The only way I rate my squeeze page is by the number of people who opt in as a ratio of the number of people who visit my page. That is my conversion rate. I have squeeze pages with conversion rates as low as 25% and I have squeeze pages with conversion rates of between 65 and 66%. Now, the source of the traffic has a lot to do with the conversion rate of my squeeze page. But that is how I evaluate my squeeze page.

A squeeze page should have just enough info on it to get someone to download a free gift and opt in to your email list. If they are already pre-qualified when they get to your squeeze page, like if they read an article of yours, then all you need is a headline, some bullets, and a call to action.

If they are coming from an advertisement or a ppc ad, then they might need more content, more copy – they have to have enough to kind of get to know you well enough to give you their name and email.

List Building – What Should be On Your List Building Squeeze Page?

November 19th, 2008

When you list build, you need a squeeze page. What is a squeeze page? A squeeze page is a web page whose primary purpose is to compel the visitor to opt in to the list.

That is it. Nothing fancy. A squeeze page simply asks visitors to become subscribers.

So what should a squeeze page have on it?

Let’s start with what a squeeze page should NOT have on it.

A squeeze page should have no option for the visitor but to opt in. None. No links, no articles, no information, no Adsense, nothing.

How to structure your squeeze page:

1) Headline. A great squeeze page needs a great headline. This headline is probably going to be the difference between an opt in or not. You see, if the visitor likes the headline, and continues to read, it is quite likely that he or she will opt in to your web site.

2) A few bullet points about what they will receive when they opt in to your site or mailing list. The visitor is not going to opt in just because the box is there. You must give them a reason to opt in.

3) An opt in box. You should get the html code for this from your autoresponder company or service.

That is all you need for a squeeze page. You do not need any links, videos, graphics, audio–nothing more.

Email Marketing – Why You Have to Use a Squeeze Page

November 19th, 2008

First of all, what is a squeeze page? A squeeze page is a web page that has as its only purpose the opting in of opt in subscribers. The idea of a squeeze page is that you are looking for people to opt in to your opt in email list – not to make sales or give content.

When you are working with a squeeze page, the most important thing with that squeeze page is that the visitors to the squeeze page opt in. If they do not opt in, your squeeze page is not good enough.

So why do you need to have a squeeze page?

If you do not use a squeeze page, and just put a web form on your web page to collect subscribers, you will probably average an opt in rate of around 10%. But with a squeeze page, you can get up to 70% (or more) of your visitors to opt in.

So that means you can get up to 7 times more subscribers if you use a squeeze page rather than just an opt in box.

So why does a squeeze page have to have no other purpose?

If you start adding other links outbound on your squeeze page, you will find that people will click those links instead of opting in to your opt in form. If you add more than a few links, then your opt in conversion rate will approach that of a regular web site.

The bottom line is: do not try to do anything on a squeeze page except get the opt in!
